At 4 Site Security, it is very important to us that we uphold our values of Integrity, Trust and Excellence in every aspect of our business. We are on a journey of consistent and continual improvement for our people and our clients to support a thriving, successful and progressive company for all concerned.
Recently, we took part in the ISO audits for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System. These audits are assessments against standardised frameworks which help to ensure consistent quality and strive for excellence in our provision of goods and services. They also help us to measure, on a voluntary annual basis, our approach to quality management and the impact on the environment of our organisational processes. We find out where our successes have been, how we can build on this and, most importantly, we listen and act on areas where we can improve.
We asked our Compliance Officer Charlotte King, who has been at the heart of the audit, to tell us more:
Charlotte explained: “ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 affect every part of the business. The assessment focuses on seven main principles and seven main assessment categories. The principles are customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence and risk-based decision making, and relationship management. The assessment categories cover context of the organisation, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement.
The audit entails a comprehensive three day assessment where external auditors review every part of the business with visits to several customer sites to talk to our team members, customers and managers.
This year, the audit revealed the benefits of our hard work and significant progress in our internal processes.
Some areas where we look to develop going forward are:
- risk assessments
- climate control
- risk assessments
- updates to welfare checks
- document control/retention
Going over and above the findings of the audit, it is also a priority for us to improve training for all of our people.”
Why is this Important?
Charlotte says that both of these ISO standards are key to 4 Site Security success.
They can help to:
- increase our value to our customers and support a great customer experience
- encourage an organisation-wide commitment to quality and environment with a shared culture and values
- inspire, encourage and recognise the contribution of our people
- support process, performance, and organisational capability to achieve objectives
- help us to react to risk and opportunity and improve compliance with legislation
- facilitate cost and energy savings with reduced environmental impact

How does this underpin our 4 Site Security Values?
Support
The standards outline best practice for supporting everyone in an organisation, and especially the social, psychological and physical welfare of all employees. There is also focus on the need for communication and awareness throughout the company and on the leadership team to support, engage and communicate effectively with people inside and outside of the organisation.
Integrity
Audits mean that we have full accountability for our processes and procedures as the auditors assess each aspect of the organisation from an objective third party perspective.
Trust
Both customers and employees of 4 Site Security can trust that we are working in line with best practice and that we have welfare of our people, clients, and public in mind.
Excellence
One of the key drivers behind ISO is continuous improvement to support our company in our journey to excellence.
